DeAngelo Williams: (Ankle) Week 8 Return A Slight Possibility
Williams (ankle) worked with trainers on the side at Wednesday's practice, ESPN.com reports. "He did a lot of work, pushing sleds and running," coach Ron Rivera said. "That was very encouraging. The next step is to see how he feels tomorrow."
Analysis:
Just last Monday, Oct. 13, Rivera said that Williams was a "couple of weeks" from a return, but Wednesday's development opens the door, albeit slightly, for active status Sunday against the Seahawks. If he fails to sidestep a fourth DNP in a row, though, Jonathan Stewart is the main man in the Panthers' backfield with Fozzy Whittaker (thigh) also sitting out the first practice of the week.
