Favre likely to postpone Lambeau return because of Starr's health

Brett Favre's long-awaited return to Lambeau Field may not happen this season after all.

Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder that he planned to attend the Green Bay Packers' Nov. 9 game against the Chicago Bears, but will likely have to postpone the trip because of Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr's health problems.

The 80-year-old Starr is recovering from two strokes and a mild heart attack, and Favre intended to have Starr join him on the field.

While the specifics of the ceremony had yet to be finalized, Werder reports that there were discussions of making Favre and Starr honorary captains and having them participate in the pregame coin toss.

When asked why he and the Packers wouldn't proceed with the ceremony without Starr, Favre replied, "I'm sure they could, but it was my idea to do it, and now that Bart can't, I just don't think I will.''
