Panthers' Rivera didn't agree with Luke Kuechly's ejection

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera doesn't think linebacker Luke Kuechly should have been ejected from Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

"I disagreed with it,'' Rivera told David Newton of ESPN. "I disagreed with the explanation I was given. I looked at the tape and I felt the tape agreed with what I felt.''

Kuechly was tossed during the third quarter for making contact with an official after he swung his arm while being restrained by back judge Steve Freeman.

"To tell you the truth, I didn't know who was grabbing me,'' Kuechly said following the Panthers' 38-17 loss. "I was trying to get out of there a little bit. You've just got to stay calm in those situations and just walk away and let it take care of itself.''

When asked if he thinks Kuechly should be fined for the incident, Rivera was characteristically blunt.

"No,'' Rivera said. "Not at all. Zero chance.''
