Blake Bortles not impressed by his performance in win over Browns

Richard Dole / USA TODAY Sports

Most rookies would revel in winning their first NFL game.

Blake Bortles isn't like most rookies.

The Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback led the team to a 24-6 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. It was Jacksonville's first win of the season, leaving Oakland as the last winless team in the NFL.

"Bad, not good,” Bortles said of his performance to the St. Augustine Record.

"The defense and offensive line and running game won this game, no doubt about it. Anybody can see that. Obviously, I’m not happy with the way I played, but I’m extremely happy with the outcome of the game.”

Bortles went 17/31 for 159 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.

The rookie quarterback was alone in his assessment of his play.

"Blake stayed strong throughout. He didn’t flinch. I know the (interceptions) bothered him, but he got right back in there," said Jaguars coach Gus Bradley.

"I told him, ‘That’s not going to be the last pick you ever throw so move on,'"  added Jedd Fisch, Jaguars offensive coordinator .

Jacksonville takes on the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.
