Packers cruise to blowout victory over Panthers

The Green Bay Packers extended their winning streak to four games Sunday afternoon with a 38-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Despite the loss, the Panthers remain atop the NFC South with a 3-3-1 record. The Packers, meanwhile, sit in a tie with the Detroit Lions for first place in the NFC North with a 5-2 record.

Here's what you need to know:

• Jordy Nelson opened the scoring with a 59-yard touchdown catch from Aaron Rodgers. The catch was the 346th of his career, moving the wide receiver into ninth place on the Packers' all-time list.
• Randall Cobb led all receivers with six catches for 121 yards and a touchdown.
• Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly was ejected from the game in the third quarter for making contact with an official.
• Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was near perfect, completing 19-of-22 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns. It was his sixth consecutive game without an interception, which ties a franchise record.
• Panthers quarterback Cam Newton finished the game 17-of-31 for 205 yards with one touchdown and an interception. 
• Panthers starting left tackle Byron Bell left the game in the third quarter with an elbow injury and did not return. He was replaced by undrafted rookie David Foucault.
• Packers running back James Starks left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.
