Panthers' Jonathan Stewart returns to practice Wednesday

The Carolina Panthers have announced that running back Jonathan Stewart returned to practice Wednesday after not playing Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

The six-year veteran has been dealing with a severely sprained knee, missing practice for most of last week until returning Friday.

Stewart's counterpart, DeAngelo Williams, is out this week, so if Stewart is healthy enough to play, he would be in line for an increased workload against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
