Lions' Calvin Johnson says ankle feels better, expects to be double covered vs. Bills

Tim Fuller / USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Lions All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who has been dealing with ankle soreness since Week 2, said he feels better on Wednesday than he did at this point last week.

Johnson also indicated that former Lions coach, and current Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz told him he would exclusively use double coverage against him if the two ever matched up, according to Dave Birkett from the Detroit Free Press.

Normally that wouldn't be a major revelation because, as Lions quarterback Matt Stafford told the media, "That's what everybody does in the league, so it makes sense." However, over the last two weeks, with Johnson being hobbled, teams have used single-high zone coverage against him, according to The MMQB's Andy Benoit.
