John Rieger / USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct Monday night against the New England Patriots, after taking an interception for a touchdown.

Upon reaching the end zone, Abdullah knelt down to pray.

The Chiefs' safety was subsequently penalized, as the NFL Player Conduct Policy states "players are prohibited from engaging in any celebrations while on the ground."

Abdullah's agent CJ LaBoy was furious with the official's ruling.

The Chiefs routed the Patriots 41-14 on Monday night, and Abdullah recorded a team-high eight tackles.
