- The Cowboys defense took another couple of hits with Morris Claiborne and Bruce Carter going down with injuries.
- After accumulating an NFL-record 40 first downs in last year's meeting between these teams, the Saints compiled 20 first downs on Sunday night.
- After reeling in one catch for eight yards in the first half, Saints tight end Jimmy Graham caught seven balls for 78 yards in the second half.
