Josh Gordon's suspension reduced to 10 games

The NFL and NFLPA announced Friday that Josh Gordon's suspension has been reduced to 10 games as part of the league's new drug policy.

Gordon is now eligible to return for the Cleveland Browns' Nov. 23 game against the Atlanta Falcons, provided he adheres all the terms of the Stage Three substance-abuse program. He will also be permitted to attend team meetings and work out at the team's training facility.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Gordon is not expected to receive an addition suspension for his recent DWI conviction.

"Hopefully, we will (be in the thick of it),'' Browns safety Donte Whitner said of Gordon's return. "That's the goal, and when you get a piece like that, it'll scare a bunch of defensive coordinators, especially in our division because they know the things that he can do. Six games is enough games to go out there and make a statement, and we believe that he's going to do that.''

Gordon had 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games last season.
