San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis reportedly avoided structural damage on an ankle injury suffered against the Chicago Bears, but he still wasn't practicing Wednesday.
Davis was spotted on crutches after the game and his status remains unclear for Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
The 49ers need Davis at full strength when taking on a tough Cardinals passing defense. A win would put Arizona at 3-0 and San Francisco well behind the pack in the NFC West.
