Report: Panthers considering placing Hardy on NFL exempt list; didn't practice Wednesday

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Following news that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was placed on the NFL's exempt list as he deals with legal issues, the Carolina Panthers are considering doing the the same with defensive end Greg Hardy, according to The Washington Post.

Being placed on the exempt list would see Hardy deactivated with pay, most likely until his next court appearance on Nov. 17, at least. Hardy, however, would need to give his consent as Peterson did, the Post notes.

Hardy didn't practice with the Panthers on Wednesday, leading to increased speculation about his future.
