Bad Beats - Week 2: Raiders' garbage-time touchdown sinks under bettors

Week 2 of the NFL season was headlined by a slew of injuries, but bettors actually fared pretty well, with a few exceptions.

Here's a recap of some of the toughest beats bettors endured on Sunday.

Result: Texans 30, Raiders 14

The Raiders dealt bettors a blow in garbage-time last weekend when they covered as 5.5-point underdogs on a late touchdown that brought them to within five points of the New York Jets.

They were at it again in garbage-time on Sunday.

While the day's game between the Raiders and Texans wasn't one bettors were particularly active on, those that did get in on the under were let down in a big way at the end of that contest.

Oakland capped off a 13-play, 83-yard drive with a nine-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr to James Jones with only 13 seconds remaining in the game, lifting the score over the closing total of 41.

Result: Packers 31, Jets 24

Leave it to the Jets to find new and creative ways to lose.

Driving with a chance to take the lead late in Sunday's contest at Lambeau Field, quarterback Geno Smith lofted a pass to the end zone which wide receiver Jeremy Kerley made a terrific play on to make the catch in the end zone for a potential game-tying touchdown.

But in true Jets fashion, a timeout was called before the snap, reportedly by offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, wiping out the touchdown. To make matters worse, Mornhinweg's timeout call shouldn't have even been accepted by the officials because he isn't the team's head coach.

Most Jets backers settled for a push, though they must have thought they had this one in the bag when the team held a 21-3 lead, but a game's never over until it's over when the Jets are involved.
