New Orleans Saints rookie receiver Brandin Cooks looks like an early candidate for the unofficial title of fantasy football rookie of the year.
Cooks has been heavily involved in the Saints' offense in their season opener vs. the Atlanta Falcons. Late in the first half, he leads the team with six catches for 68 yards, including a three-yard touchdown grab.
Cooks has also been used out of the backfield, carrying the ball once for 18 yards.
Cooks was tabbed by many analysts as the likely inheritor of Darren Sproles' old role in the Saints offense. So far, it looks like he could be an even bigger factor than Sproles ever was.
