Broncos' Trevathan out 6-8 weeks with left knee fracture

Stew Milne / USA TODAY Sports

MRI results on Danny Trevathan came back Tuesday and revealed the Denver Broncos linebacker suffered a left knee fracture.

While the Broncos are estimating his recovery at six-to-eight weeks, Trevathan told ESPN's Josina Anderson he expects to be back sooner.

"They told me that my ACL and MCL are fine, but that I have a fracture in my knee," he said. "The doctor told me I was going to be out four-to-eight weeks, but I told him four-to-six. I'm not tripping. I will bounce back. I'm a soldier."

Trevathan started all 16 games for the Broncos last season, posting a team-high 129 total tackles.
