Report: Cardinals' Abraham was found passed out behind the wheel June 29

Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham was passed out in the driver's seat of his black Dodge Challenger on the night of his DUI arrest, according to a police report obtained by ESPN.

Abraham, 36, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and stopping, standing or parking prohibited in a specified place after police found him asleep behind the wheel at the intersection of an Atlanta suburb.

New details stemming from the June 29 incident emerged Tuesday, including allegations that it took the responding officer "several" minutes to wake Abraham.

Some of the other details outlined by ESPN include:

Abraham appeared confused and "rambled while speaking," the officer wrote in the report.

Abraham said he had two drinks and told offers at the scene that he had been waiting on someone to pick him up but said that person never arrived. Abraham also said he didn't feel safe to drive and didn't want to drive, according to the report.

Abraham failed a series of field sobriety tests, including the walking and balancing tests. He also couldn't recite the alphabet from C to X, according to the report, finally giving up. All of which led him to being arrested.

After initially agreeing to a breath test, Abraham changed his mind and refused to take it, the report stated.

Abraham was released on bond hours after his arrest.
