Report: Vernon Davis still looking for new deal despite presence at training camp

Although San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis bucked expectations and reported to training camp Wednesday, his desire for a new and more lucrative contract hasn't waned.

Sources close to Davis told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that the mounting financial loss stemming from his absence at mandatory minicamp, coupled with the possibility of facing a $30,000 fine for every day of training camp missed, influenced the Pro Bowler's decision report to camp.

According to the source, Davis is "definitely" not okay with starting camp without a new contract, but as Florio notes, the 49ers are reportedly unwilling to negotiate with holdouts.
