Ravens give Forsett first-team reps over Rice during OTAs

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has not hidden his disappointment over the actions of some his players have taken during the offseason.

A number of Ravens, including running backs Ray Rice and Lorenzo Taliaferro, offensive lineman Jah Reid and wide receiver Deonte Thompson, have run afoul of the law since their season ended in December.

With OTAs getting underway this week, Harbaugh used that as an opportunity to send a message. As noted by Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Harbuagh gave first-team reps to journeyman running back Justin Forsett over both the veteran Rice and the rookie Taliaferro.

Of course this doesn't mean Forsett, who spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, will be Baltimore's starter come opening day, but it does show Harbaugh is willing to practice what he preaches.

Players getting in trouble becomes an all too often sight during the offseason, so it's encouraging to see a coach try to reinforce good habits on his players, even if it is just by making them watch during practice.
