Report: Bills never had interest in trading for Chris Johnson

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

Rumors emerged suggesting the Buffalo Bills, among other teams, were interested in trading for former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson shortly after the Titans revealed plans to cut the star rusher. The Titans pushed hard for a trade, reports stated, but in the end no deal made sense for the team.

Perhaps no deal made sense because the Titans' supposed trade partners didn't actually have interest in acquiring Johnson.

Frankly, the Bills never made sense as a destination for Johnson. The Bills already have a younger, better version of Johnson in C.J. Spiller.

No word on whether the other teams linked to Johnson, including the Jets, Falcons and Dolphins, also have negligible interest in the speedster.
