Former Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers has agreed to terms with the Green Bay Packers on a three-year deal, the team announced Saturday.

It's worth a maximum of $30 million, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson:

Peppers was released by the Bears on Tuesday and reportedly drew interest from the Dallas Cowboys, though the team had yet to schedule a visit with the 34-year-old.

In Green Bay, Peppers will be reunited with Mike Trgovac, who served as defensive line coach and, later, defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers from 2002-08. Peppers was a Panther from 2002 through 2009.

As Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes, this isn't a huge investment for the Packers, considering only $7.5 million of Peppers' salary is guaranteed.
