Prescott: 'My first motivation' is playoff loss to Packers

Dak Prescott isn't looking to broad, general notions like "being the best ever" or "getting more out of myself" to motivate him ahead of his second NFL season. He's still hung up on his last game.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback saw his first playoff appearance cut short by the Green Bay Packers thanks to a barely believable play by Aaron Rodgers and Jared Cook in the 2016 Divisional Round.

As he enters Year Two, Prescott is drawing from the bitter taste of defeat as he hopes to continue the early success of his career.

"First and foremost is just losing the playoff game," Prescott told the "Candidly Cowboys" podcast when asked what motivates him as he enters his second season. "That's my first motivation heading into this second year.

"But there's a lot that I can get better at. There's a lot this team can get better at. In Year One we just scratched the surface. We're just getting started. I know we've been hitting these workouts and we're just excited for what we can be as a team."

Prescott performed well in the 34-31 loss, throwing for 302 yards and three touchdowns, but clearly felt he could have done better.
