The New Orleans Saints' draft was missing something special this weekend as 15-year-old superfan Jarrius "JJ" Robertson got ready for a long-awaited liver transplant surgery.

Robertson, who also serves as the Saints' "hype man," was supposed to announce a Saints third-round pick from Philadelphia on Friday before his family got the call that a donor had been found.

"We finally got our hero," Robertson's father, Jordy, said in a Facebook video, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett.

Jarrius has a chronic liver disease called biliary atresia that's affected his physical growth through his life, and also received a liver transplant when he was a year old.

The 15-year-old is expected to have surgery Saturday and tweeted out a message to his own fans, showing off his always-optimistic personality.
