Rams' Gerald Everett: Second-round pick by Rams

The Rams selected Everett in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, 44th overall.

Analysis:

Everett (6-foot-3, 239 pounds) is a pass-catching specialist at tight end, but one who could do well in such a role at the NFL level. He was the best pass catcher for South Alabama the last two years, and he confirmed his NFL-level athleticism with a 4.62-second 40-yard dash, 37.5-inch vertical, and 126-inch broad jump at the Combine. Even if Tyler Higbee starts at tight end for the Rams, Everett could earn targets in a Sean McVay offense that often utilized two tight ends in Washington. Given the nature of the tight end position, though, Everett is a better bet for the 2018 season onward.
