NFL draft prop bets were allowed by Nevada gambling regulators for the first time this year and among the propositions that received the most action was the number of quarterbacks that will be picked in the first round.

Draft prop bets closed Wednesday night but the betting line had been set at over/under 3.5 quarterbacks drafted Thursday night. The over paid out at +160 while the under drew a -180 figure.

"We took several limit bets on that over ... more on the over 3.5 QBs than anything else," Westgate Las Vegas sportsbook manager John Murray told ESPN's Benjamin Fawkes.

Among quarterbacks projected as possible first-round draft picks are Mitchell Trubisky out of North Carolina, Clemson's Deshaun Watson, Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer, Davis Webb out of Cal, and Patrick Mahomes of Texas Tech.

The William Hill US sportsbook took more bets on the over, yet more money was bet on the under.

"The wagering on the NFL draft props has been exciting," said Nick Bogdanovich, director of trading for William Hill US. "We didn't expect all the action that we are currently seeing. It makes me believe that in the future NFL draft wagering will be very popular, with an expanded list of additional props - a good sign for years to come."
