Despite constant talk of a trade earlier in the offseason, Jimmy Garoppolo remains a member of the New England Patriots ahead of the first day of the draft Thursday.

It was thought the backup quarterback would be sent off in a blockbuster package that would likely radically alter the draft, but New England has been steadfast in its desire to keep Garoppolo, and the 25-year-old isn't concerned about the Patriots potentially dealing him during the first round.

"No nerves," Garoppolo told Comcast SportsNet New England's Mike Girardi on Wednesday before the Boston Celtics' playoff contest. "I'm just trying to enjoy the game with the guys tonight. It's a special thing coming out here."

When the draft concludes, so will likely any talk of Garoppolo being on another team to begin the 2017 season. However, due to his contract expiring after the upcoming season, Tom Brady's backup will continue to make headlines until his future is decided.

Like his mentor, Garoppolo refuses to let any outside noise affect his preparation for 2017.

"To be honest, I really didn't think about it," he said. "I was just enjoying the offseason. Working out. Grinding it out with the guys out in California. Now we're back at it with the team."
