Aqib Talib: 'Definitely a relief' not to be suspended for shooting myself
Aqib Talib is quite happy that his 2016 offseason embarrassment didn't carry over to 2017.
The Denver Broncos cornerback was reportedly facing a suspension over a June incident when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Talib's suspension was reportedly dismissed April 18.
"Definitely a relief, man," Talib told ESPN's Michael Kelly. "Just glad I could put it behind me and move on to the season and worry about what I really need to be worrying about."
Despite the injury, Talib was ready for the start of the season and earned both Pro Bowl and First-team All-Pro honors in 2016.
"Last year I was excited just to be running around and not miss any action because of it," said Talib. "That was really on my mind last year, just how am I going to shake back and how my body is going to react to it.
"It reacted pretty good."
