As he was preparing to jump from college to the NFL, Texas running back prospect D'Onta Foreman experienced a tragic turn of events during the 2016 season.

Foreman revealed to NFL Network's Andrea Kremer that his son - D'Onta Jr. - died two months after being born premature last September. The 21-year-old had not previously talked about the loss publicly.

"I really didn't know how to feel," Foreman said. "I was like numb. I felt like something was taken away from me before I had a chance to experience it."

The severe ups and downs of his son's birth and death were captured in a short documentary by NFL Network available here.

Foreman is expected to be drafted in the third or fourth round of this week's draft. He and his girlfriend are expecting their second child on Sept. 16 - the one-year anniversary of their first son's birth.
