After breaking from the mold of fifty straight drafts in the same city in 2015, the NFL is ready to blow up their traditional style of picking players.

The league is considering hosting the 2018 event at multiple cities, and 23 locations have inquired about hosting, reports Daniel Kaplan of Sports Business Daily.

The NFL hopes to have over 200,000 fans attend draft week festivities this week and would like to offer the opportunity to attend the draft live to multiple fan bases.

It would drastically alter the style fans have become accustomed to, as multiple broadcast crews would be needed, prospects attending the draft would have to pick one location, and Commissioner Roger Goodell wouldn't be making every first-round pick.

The NFL moved the draft from New York to Chicago in 2015 after the Big Apple hosted the event from 1965-2014. This week, the draft returns to Philadelphia for the first time since 1961.
