Chiefs lead the way with 6 prime-time games; Jaguars, Browns snubbed

Get ready to see a lot of the Kansas City Chiefs this upcoming season.

The Chiefs - not one of the league's more recognizable franchises like the Dallas Cowboys or Green Bay Packers - have the most prime-time games during the 2017 season, based on the league schedule released Thursday.

Kansas City is set to play in the season opener against the New England Patriots, and will play in prime time another five times over the course of the campaign.

The Patriots, Packers, Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, and Oakland Raiders all have five prime-time appearances on their respective schedules.

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cleveland Browns might easily be forgotten about in 2017, as neither will appear in a nationally-televised game.

It's the first time in Jaguars history they don't have a prime-time game, and it hasn't happened to the Browns since 2010.

Jacksonville and Cleveland won't even make appearances on Thursday Night Football. In recent years every team has been given the chance to play on a Thursday at least once during the season, but in 2017, the NFL has been more selective about its choices, likely due to the downturn in TNF ratings.
