Browns GM says team will hang on to No. 1 pick

Don't expect another trade for the No. 1 overall pick ahead of this year's NFL draft.

Sashi Brown, executive vice president of football operations for the Cleveland Browns - the owners of the coveted pick, said on Wednesday that while he has fielded calls from teams interested in trading for the right to make the first draft choice on April 27, he feels good about the team's current position.

"We have received calls. We haven't resigned ourselves one way or the other. We feel really good about picking No. 1, and I would leave it at that," Brown said at a pre-draft press conference on Wednesday.

The Browns have needs throughout their roster, with Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett the favorite to be taken first overall. Cleveland will not announce its choice ahead of the draft, however.

"I can tell you we are not going to get to the point where we announce it before the pick," Brown said.

Brown admitted one team inquired about trading up to the No. 1 selection in order to pick a quarterback, but was rebuffed.
