Confirming the assumption of many within the football world, Andrew Luck indeed appears to have been dealing with a significant shoulder injury for the better part of the last two years.

After introducing himself to members of the local media Monday, his health was one of the many topics the Indianapolis Colts' star quarterback discussed in a press conference at the offseason workout program.

Most notably, Luck admitted that the shoulder surgery he underwent this offseason was for an injury that was first suffered in September 2015, via Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star.

The lengthy timeline between the initial ailment and the procedure to get it taken care of will, of course, raise some eyebrows. Indianapolis consistently downplayed the severity of the issue, and Luck clearly wasn't himself for periods of time over that stretch.

He declined to provide an update on his projected return, but the expectation is that he'll be healthy in time for the regular season. Either way, the Colts should be incredibly encouraged by the fact that those issues may now be behind him.

The three-time Pro Bowler is undoubtedly one of the league's premier quarterbacks when healthy. Keeping him that way will be key to Indianapolis' chances of overcoming other roster deficiencies and getting back to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
