The New England Patriots have selected offensive tackle Antonio Garcia out of Troy in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Patriots traded with the Detroit Lions to acquire the pick and make the Troy standout the potential left tackle of the future in New England.

Garcia was an All-Sun Belt first-team selection in his final collegiate season, anchoring the offensive line for a Troy team that finished 10-3.

  • Footwork is crisp and fluid.

Weaknesses

  • Lack of strength will be concerning against bigger defenders in the NFL (played below 300 pounds at Troy).
  • Not a difference-maker in the running game, perhaps due to poor strength.
