The New England Patriots have selected defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. out of Arkansas in the fourth round (131st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

- Strong upper body. Uses hard hands to establish position against blockers, and can easily control blocks from undersized linemen and tight ends.

- Effort. Opts to use power on regular basis and takes pride in standing his ground. Motor constantly going despite below-average speed.
Weaknesses
- Doesn't have speed to be edge rusher at NFL level. May be better suited to play inside, where he can rely on power.
- After shining as a junior in 2015, Wise's production fell off as a senior, which saw him lose playing time throughout the year.
