Von Miller: Myles Garrett will be the No. 1 pick

One of the NFL's premier defenders knows all about the sky-high potential of a fellow Texas A&M product.

Denver Broncos superstar Von Miller recently threw his support behind Myles Garrett, saying he should and will be the first player off the board in this year's draft.

"He should be the No. 1 pick," Miller said at a press conference Tuesday, via NFL.com. "He is gonna be the No. 1 pick."

Barring a massive upset, the former Super Bowl MVP is probably right.

Nearly all projections have the Cleveland Browns opting for the potential defensive cornerstone in Garrett, rather than addressing their longstanding quarterback needs.

A recent report suggested that LSU running back Leonard Fournette was in the mix, but that can likely be attributed to a rumor cycle that tends to get out of hand this time every year.

"Right now, he's going to the AFC North," Miller added. "I don't see anybody up there that's going to be able to handle him."

Garrett, who racked up 31 sacks and 47 tackles for loss across three seasons at Texas A&M, is thought by many to be in the same class as Miller among top edge-rush prospects. That kind of talent would be incredibly difficult to pass up in a year devoid of any can't-miss signal-callers.

If indeed headed to Cleveland, Garrett would be expected to lead the way for a defense undergoing a massive overhaul amid an organizational rebuild.
