Report: Seahawks to sign former Dolphins 1st-rounder Dion Jordan

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with former Miami Dolphins first-round pass-rusher Dion Jordan, Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports, citing a source.

Jordan gets a fresh start in Seattle after failing to live up to the expectations that came with being selected No. 3 overall in 2013.

The former Oregon standout opened his career by making a limited impact across 16 games as a rookie, then missing a total of 22 contests over the next two seasons due to drug-related suspensions.

His hopes of making a comeback for the 2016 season were derailed by knee issues, which initially forced him to the non-football injury list and eventually had him shut down for the year.

The Seahawks now take a low-risk chance on the once highly touted talent in hopes that he'll be able to carve out some sort of role for himself going forward.

Jordan will presumably enter training camp competing for depth and/or rotational duties on the edge.
