Bengals' Eifert: I'll be ready when it's go time

It has been a long time since the Cincinnati Bengals have seen Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert at 100 percent health.

Eifert tore ligaments in his ankle at the 2015 Pro Bowl and underwent back surgery in 2016, limiting him to two starts and eight games for the campaign.

As offseason workouts near, however, Eifert said he's getting closer to game shape.

"I'll be ready and healthy and strong and be ready to go by the time it's go time. I'm close," Eifert said to Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson.

Eifert ranked second in the league in touchdown receptions in 2015 with 13 scores. The Bengals sorely missed his offensive production last season as their record dipped from 12-4 to 6-9-1.
