3 NFLers we want to see play another sport for a day

Tony Romo's one-night stint with the Dallas Mavericks in honor of his retirement got us thinking: what other NFL players would we like to see suit up in another sport?

Plenty of players have dabbled in other offseason activities, and many have ties with athletes and teams in their adopted cities. These three players stand out above the rest, however:

Tom Brady - Baseball

This scenario could realistically take place in the near future.

Though he's said he'd like to play another six or seven years, Brady will turn 40 this year and already has five Super Bowl rings. He's also spent a ton of time celebrating those titles at Fenway Park.

When Brady does choose to hang 'em up, imagine him in that iconic Red Sox jersey, sitting at the end of the bench, cap on, on the lineup card. One can only hope that game goes deep into extra innings, and Brady has to be called into action. He'd probably hold his own, too, after being drafted by the Montreal Expos out of college.

James Harrison - MMA

Herschel Walker was the first popular ex-NFLer to reinvent himself as a mixed martial artist, but if anyone else can transition into a fighter in his 40s, it's the man they call Deebo. Harrison signed a two-year deal to remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but what's he going to do with all that muscle when he turns 40 in 2018?

His workouts are the stuff of legend and his Instagram page is the stuff of nightmares, making Harrison the most likely ex-pro football player to hold his own in the UFC's Octagon.

Plus, we've already found him a training partner.

J.J. Watt - Hockey

Watt's hockey skills have been confirmed on multiple occasions. When the Great American Hero trades in his cleats for skates, he won't be suiting up for an NHL team, but for all of America, with Team USA.

Enforcers are being eliminated from the game, but for one night, wouldn't it be nice to see the 6-foot-5, near-300-pounder line up an opponent for a colossal open-ice hit?
