Shelton Gibson Bio
Position: WR
School: West Virginia
College Experience: Junior
Height: 5-11
Weight: 191 lbs.
Strengths
- Big play receiver. Has deep threat speed, averaged over 22 yards per catch in last two seasons.
- Open field runner. Doesn't break many tackles, but can juke and fake defenders out of his way with enough space.
- Resembles poor man's Tavon Austin. Depending on how much a team expects of him, Gibson could be solid gadget player and return weapon.
Weaknesses
- Not an NFL route runner. Ran a lot of simplified option routes at West Virginia. Will need to learn how to run an NFL route tree.
- Stifled against top competition. Large gap in production between games against top-rated teams and poorer programs.
- Specialty weapon. Only had at least six touches in two games last season. Mostly to be used in gadget, specialty plays.
