Report: Romo felt let down by Garrett's decision to stick with Prescott

Now that Tony Romo's tenure with the Dallas Cowboys is over, some of his behind-the-scenes feelings are beginning to creep out.

Romo didn't bother to mention former head coach Jason Garrett in his first few media appearance since accepting a broadcasting position with CBS, and that may not have been an oversight.

After Garrett chose to stick with Dak Prescott as the team's starting quarterback once Romo was healthy last season, the now-retired field general felt let down by his coach's decision to not even allow Romo to compete for the spot, a source told Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star Telegram.

In his opening comments, Romo chose to heartily thank owner Jerry Jones rather than Garrett, whom he hasn't spoken to since the end of the 2016 season.

Prior to last season, Romo had been Garrett's No. 1 quarterback throughout the coach's full tenure with the Cowboys, which started in 2007.
