Retired running back Marshawn Lynch is visiting the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, confirming an earlier report by Pat McAfee of Barstool Sports.

Lynch's NFL rights are still owned by the Seattle Seahawks. Should the 30-year-old decide to come out of retirement, the Seahawks could decide to keep him, trade him, or release him.

Lynch is believed to want to play in his hometown of Oakland, but there is no indication that Wednesday's visit is anything more than a casual drop-in.

Since Lynch is retired, he is permitted to visit teams other than the Seahawks. If he were not retired, Wednesday's visit could constitute tampering. Nonetheless, the Seahawks reportedly granted Lynch permission to make the visit - an indication that the two sides could have mutual interest and that a trade could be in the cards.
