Eagles trade up to grab NCAA yards leader Donnel Pumphrey
Jake Roth / USA TODAY Sports
The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to select running back Donnel Pumphrey out of San Diego State in the fourth round (132nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The Eagles traded their fourth-round (139th) and seventh-round (230th) picks to the Minnesota Vikings to make the selection.
Pumphrey is the NCAA's all-time leading rusher with 6,290 career yards over four seasons. With his small stature and proficiency in the receiving game, he's an ideal replacement for Darren Sproles, who expects to retire after the 2017 season.
