Report: Browns want Coleman to become No. 1 guy after Pryor's exit

The Cleveland Browns want 2016 first-round pick Corey Coleman to seize the role of No. 1 receiver following the departure of Terrelle Pryor in free agency.

Though the Browns signed Kenny Britt to help replace Pryor's production, head coach Hue Jackson says it's Coleman who needs to become the team's top receiving threat.

"He's got to go do it now, because he's now seen as the 'the guy,' so he needs to go play and play well," Jackson said, according to ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi.

Coleman started his rookie year hot, catching two touchdowns in Week 2, but missed the next six weeks with an injury.

The rookie also reportedly struggled with the cold weather in Cleveland, seeking warm shelter after running routes in practice.

Jackson suggested Coleman will mature in his second season with more experience under his belt.

"The season's long, here comes the snow, it's cold at practice, the sun's out the next day, playing a different type of defensive back this week, a guy who's in my face, a guy who plays off, a guy who talks to me every play, a guy that doesn't," Jackson said. "So there's a lot to prepare for in this league and you’ve to prepare for it. He'll make the necessary adjustments he needs to play well this year."
