Goodell doesn't believe Kaepernick is being blackballed

If Colin Kaepernick is being blacklisted by NFL teams, the league office doesn't know about it, according to Roger Goodell.

While players, coaches, and executives debate whether Kaepernick being unsigned has more to do with political reasons than football ones, Goodell told reporters at the league meetings Tuesday that he has heard of any fishy business.

"I haven’t heard that from our clubs in any way that that’s an issue," Goodell said when asked directly if he thought Kaepernick was being blackballed, according to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk. "My experience in 35 years is that our clubs make independent evaluations of players. They work hard to try to improve their teams.

"But if they think a player can help improve their team, they’re going to do that."

Many players have voiced their thoughts that Kaepernick is being treated unfairly, but coaches and executives, like Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, seem to side more with what Goodell is claiming.
