Giants owner: Beckham is the last guy I'm worried about

New York Giants co-owner John Mara is going to bat for oft-criticized wideout Odell Beckham Jr., as many of Beckham's teammates have in the past.

"He's an emotional player," Mara said at the NFL's owner meetings this week, according to NJ.com's Dan Duggan. "I think he's going to mature over time, but I'm not losing any sleep worrying about him. He's a prideful, motivated young man who competes at 100 percent all the time. I think he'll mature over time.

"I've interacted with (Beckham) enough to know that I have confidence that he's going to be a good player in this league for a long time," Mara added. "He's the last guy on our team that I'm worried about."

Beckham drew criticism after he and several other Giants receivers took a trip to Miami the week of their playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.

After the game, which the Giants lost, Beckham punched a hole in the wall inside Lambeau Field, drawing further criticism.

Mara joked that he's willing to pay the bill for repairing the hole.
