Raiders' Derek Carr: Expected to be 'full go' for offseason activities

Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said Carr (fibula) will be "full go" for offseason activities, CSN's Scott Bair reports.

Analysis:

Carr broke the fibula in his right leg during a Week 16 game against the Colts on Christmas Eve last season and was initially slapped with a 6-to-8 week timetable for recovery. However, that was just the minimum requirement for healing and, according to Dr. Nick Grosso via the Bay Area News Group, Carr would still need an additional 4-to-6 weeks before he'd be able to play football again. The Raiders begin offseason workouts on April 17. Considering the quarterback is nearing full health with weeks to spare before that date -- which is roughly one month past the back end of Dr. Grosso's timeline for Carr's return to game action -- McKenzie's comments are fully believable and now the expectation for his fourth-year quarterback as Carr begins his preparations for the 2017 campaign.
