Report: Browns unlikely to keep Gordon if reinstated

As Josh Gordon awaits a ruling on his application for reinstatement to the NFL, the Cleveland Browns must decide what to do with their troubled young wideout's rights should Gordon's request be granted.

The team owns Gordon's rights for two more seasons if he's reinstated, as Gordon's contract did not toll while he was suspended.

It's unlikely Gordon will suit up for the Browns again, however, with a source telling Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com that the Browns will likely try to trade Gordon or perhaps release him outright upon his reinstatement.

Still only 26 years old, Gordon would certainly draw interest around the league if he can convince teams he truly has his life in order. He hasn't played a snap since 2014, but led the NFL in receiving the year before.

There are few teams in need of wideout help more than the Browns, who allowed Terrelle Pryor to leave in free agency and replaced him with Kenny Britt (who will line up opposite 2016 first-round pick Corey Coleman), but it seems Gordon may have used up all his chances in Cleveland.
