Cowboys address pass-rush need with Taco Charlton
Trevor Ruszkowski / USA TODAY Sports
The Dallas Cowboys have selected defensive end Taco Charlton out of Michigan with the 28th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Landing a pass-rusher was undoubtedly among Dallas' offseason priorities, and scooping up Charlton fills that need.
Fitting in as a defensive end in the Cowboys' 4-3 front, Charlton should immediately be in the mix for starting snaps.
Anything close to the level of production he enjoyed as a senior, racking up 10 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss, would be a major upgrade for a pass defense that must improve for Dallas to take the next step.
