Saints' Terron Armstead: Reworks contract to open cap space

Armstead (knee/quad) had his $5 million roster bonus converted to a signing bonus in order to free up $4 million in cap space for New Orleans, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Armstead, a former first-round pick, signed a long-term extension with the Saints last offseason and was willing to restructure his deal to give the team some extra flexibility this offseason. He ended last season on injured reserve but is now healthy and will slot back in as the team's starting left tackle in 2017.
