The New York Jets have signed free-agent wide receiver Quinton Patton, the team announced Thursday.
Patton, originally a fourth-round pick in 2013, became available earlier this month after playing out his rookie contract with the San Francisco 49ers.
After opening his career with three seasons working predominantly in a depth role, the 26-year-old started 14 games while hauling in 37 receptions for 408 yards in 2016.
Patton should enter training camp competing for a rotational spot behind Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, and Robby Anderson atop New York's wide receiver depth chart.
