Report: Bengals' Jones has felony charge dropped

A Cincinnati prosecutor has decided against charging Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones with felony harassment with a bodily substance, ESPN's Katherine Terrell reports.

Jones was arrested in early January after allegedly pushing a security guard and poking him in the eye. He is then alleged to have spit on a nurse, which was potentially a felony offense.

"It was a pretty ... ticky-tack kind of charge," the prosecutor said Wednesday on 700 WLW in Cincinnati, according to Terrell. "Jones had some chew in his cheek and he spit it out and hit the nurse's hand and was charged for that."

Jones still faces misdemeanor charges of assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business due to the incident.
